Popis: | A case report of coinfection with Talaromyces marneffei (T. marneffei) and Cryptococcus neoformans (C. neoformans) is presented in a 57-year-old woman with hemolytic anemia who received dexamethasone for 8 years. To the best of our knowledge, this patient was successfully treated with voriconazole. This is the first case of T. marneffei and C. neoformans coinfection in a HIV-negative host. Clinicians should be aware of concomitant infection with T. marneffei and other pathogens in immunocompromised hosts. The current case report highlights the importance of clinician awareness of concurrent infections with T. marneffei and other pathogens in immunosuppressed patients. |
