Popis:	The use of implantable prosthetic devices in humans has become widespread and will no doubt continue to increase. There is a growing recognition of the need for standards for medical devices and for regulation of their use. Medical device legislation will probably be enacted at the national level in the near future. However, there is less concern for generating precise documentation for current implantable devices which is essential in emergency situations and potential reoperations. Such documentation is particularly important for the heart valve recipients.
