Closed form solution for nonlinear dynamic response in shallow shells

Popis: In this study, nonlinear Rayleigh damping is adopted so that the exciting as well as decaying process can be described in a strong earthquake. The shell foundation is considered to be viscoelastic to reflect the inner friction between molecules of the shell, which causes the viscous damping. First, the governing equations are derived and then put into nondimensional forms. The next step is to deduce these nondimensional equations into linear asymptotic for each order of the small parameter, i.e., the coefficient of the nonlinear term for damping. Finally, by applying Fourier series in nondimensional coordinates, we obtain the solution as a twofold Duhamel in an example to illustrate our method.
