Histopathologic grade was defined according to the nuclear morphology and cytoplasmic evidence of sebaceous differentiation comprising the predominance (>50%) of the tumor cells. (A) High grade tumors exhibited enlarged irregular nuclei with high nuclear:cytoplasmic ratio and only focal evidence of sebaceous differentiation (intracytoplasmic vacuoles indenting the nucleus; H&E, 200x). (B) Intermediate grade tumors exhibited similar enlarged nuclei but with lower nuclear:cytoplasmic ratio and more obvious evidence of sebaceous differentiation (H&E, 200x). (C) Well-differentiated tumors showed only slightly enlarged nuclei and frank evidence of sebaceous differentiation (H&E, 200x). |
