Popis: The environment in which maps are being produced and used has changed considerably. The World Wide Web is today's prominent medium to disseminate geospatial data and maps. In the past, producing maps was the realm of trained cartographers; nowadays, making maps via the Web is available to potentially everyone, facilitated by the power of the Web technologies and the availability of services and data in the so-called geospatial data infrastructure. These new mapmakers have different demands, and the role of maps in the Web age has changed accordingly from a traditional supply-driven map production to a demand-driven map production. The Web has also added possibilities and choices in Map Design.
