Popis: In our article we define axiology and discuss how it incorporates values, which are perceived as existential acts. Through the explanatory approach of axiological theories, the broader field of education is foreshadowed. The discussion focuses on the operational importance of values, value as processuality, the core of value, which that constitutes its meaning, the role of the relationship between the axiological subject and object, the hierarchy of values etc., regarding all these aspects as benchmarks that give education validity from a value point of view. The question of well-founded reasons in many of the „turning points” of education is highlighted, as values always have serious consequences. Value, intrinsically, makes it easier for us to discover a course of action that is reasonable from the point of view of good (or evil). The discussion is based on the idea that any value has in the alternative a foundation that transcends it and any opinion on education is a result of the ideational metamorphosis that determines it in the context of higher values.
