Preparative and spectroscopic studies of [PtCl3(4-XC6H4NO)]− K+ complexes

Popis: σ N -Coordinated compounds [PtCl 3 (4-X-C 6 H 4 NO)] - K + have been prepared and studied by 13 C NMR spectroscopy and by variable temperature 1 H NMR spectroscopy. It is shown that the anomalous behaviour of the NO group on the 13 C chemical shifts is modified by coordination but where X = N(CH 3 ) 2 or OCH 3 the free energy barriers to rotation of the NO group determined by 1 H NMR studies are closely similar to those of the free ligands. Restricted rotation of the N(CH 3 ) 2 group was also studied in [PtCl 3 (2-CH 3 -4-N(CH 3 ) 2 -C 6 H 3 NO)] − K + .
