Popis:	According to Colombian historian Lina Del Castillo, the English geographer William Faden used the expertise of Portuguese officials in the Amazon region to build his large mapofSouthAmerica,entitledColombiaPrimaorSouthAmerica,publishedin1807.In this article, we analyze who were these Portuguese officers that helped Faden and, examining the trajectory of these men, we tried to verify how they contributed tothe cartographic construction of the Amazon on ColombiaPrima.
