Popis: Research on after-sales supply chain management has commonly emphasized strategic business aspects and the application of generic operations control principles. The adoption of Internet and identification technology in after-sales operations opens up new and interesting perspectives that may enable a radical reorganization of after-sales supply chain planning and control. This chapter introduces the product centric service concept, which is the particular organizational perspective that is the basis for the reorganization of the after-sales supply chain. A two-layer approach for organizing after-sales supply chain planning and control is described and the potential benefits explained.
