Popis: | Follow-up studies have been undertaken on patients with carcinoma of the prostate who, prior to treatment, exhibited uniformly increased bone uptake of 99mTclabelled methylene diphosphonate. In general, therapy led to a reduction in the degree of radiopharmaceutical uptake on follow-up. In some cases the radionuclide bone images retained their uniform appearances, whilst in others a patchy uptake developed, more characteristic of metastatic deposits. Radiographically the changes were less pronounced than those seen in the radionuclide studies. |
