The purpose of this study was to examine the project communication and Performance of Digfer general teaching hospital construction, Mogadishu. It was guided by four objectives, that included i) to assess the impact of formal communication on performance of Digfer general teaching hospital construction in Mogadishu –Somalia; ii). to assess the impact of informal communication on performance of Digfer general teaching hospital construction in Mogadishu –Somalia; iii) to examine the influence of communication channels on performance of Digfer general teaching hospital construction, Mogadishu and iv) to establish the relationship between project communication and performance of Digfer general teaching hospital construction, Mogadishu. This study was guided by the Diffusion of Innovations Theory. Diffusion of innovations is a theory that seeks to explain how, why, and at what rate new ideas and technology are spread. The study comprised of a population of 149 respondents from which a sample size of 109 respondents were selected, and a descriptive research design was used to collect data from 109 respondents using self-administered questionnaires as the main data collection instrument. The findings of this study were; that the effect between formal communication on performance of Digfer general teaching hospital construction in Mogadishu -Somalia was rated good and this was indicated by the overall mean of 2.97, implying that there is a formalized system intended to help the Digfer general teaching hospital construction on how plans are drawn after consulting the members, furthermore with respect to the effect of Informal Communication on performance of Digfer general teaching hospital construction, Mogadishu -Somalia, this rated good and this was indicated by the average mean of 2.79, hence implying that Informal Communication is carried out and always assessed well in order to improve project effectiveness. The researcher concluded that; formal communication strongly affects the performance of professionals within the Digfer general teaching hospital construction in Mogadishu –Somalia. Therefore, clearly establishing and managing the structures of formal communication on project must always be on the agenda of team leaders and management before the commencement of every project. Recommendations based on findings were that; Although there were clear distinction between the agreements and disagreements of the formal communication, it is therefore recommended that Digfer General Teaching Hospital Construction, formal communication should be compared with traditional |
