Popis: | A haemophilic patient with a massive intra-abdominal pseudo-tumour became severely disabled after a fall which greatly increased the size of the tumour. Aided by treatment with porcine and human antihaemophilic globulin (A.H.G.), including cryoprecipitates, the tumour was successfully removed. Apart from a transient episode of thrombocytopenic bleeding on the 1st postoperative day, which entailed the evacuation of a haematoma under general anaesthetic, the postoperative course was uneventful and there was primary wound healing. Experience with this patient suggests that if a high (more than 50%) A.H.G. level is maintained for many days after operation, haemophilic pseudo-tumours can be successfully excised without lengthy immobilisation. |
