Popis: | An improved, inexpensive, portable analyzer is developed for continuous determination of gaseous fluorides in industrial environments. Contaminated air and acetic acid solution flow continuously through a scrubber where the solution absorbs the fluoride. The solution then flows through an “internal-electrolysis” cell, containing a fluoride-sensitive aluminum-platinum electrode pair, which generates an electric current reproducibly related to the fluoride concentration of die air. Operating range is 0.05 to 80 μg F- per liter of air. The initial-response time is about 30 seconds; the precision is ± 7 per cent. Chloride is the only serious interference. |
