Popis: Aggregates of an amphiphilic monoboronic acid bearing a hydrophobic pyrene fluorophore were employed for highly modulating, sensitive, and selective ratiometric fluorescent sensing of glucose in aqueous solution. The selectivity for glucose was improved by "knock-out" binding of fructose by phenylboronic acid.
