Popis: International audience; This article presents a discussion of word order in Southern Balochi. I argue that the postverbal position is the default one for Goals of motion verbs, and also frequently found for Goals of caused motion. Concerning Recipients and Beneficiaries, there is a preference for placing them in “mirror position” with regard to the direct object. Adverbials are also often found in postverbal position, and the same is true for direct objects under certain conditions. These data from an Iranian language spoken in the far south-east of the Iranian sphere provide a point of contrast for studies of word order in the Iranian-Semitic contact zone.
