Popis: The extensive use of nylons as iris fixation sutures and intraocular lens loops has resulted in complication rates of between 0.5 and 19%, depending on the series and postoperative time of examination. The primary reason for failure is chemical degradation of the nylon, particularly in the area posterior to the iris. The major clinical consequence of broken fixation sutures is corneal epithelial edema which is usually reversible if the touching suture is removed.
