Whole metabolome based phytochemical analysis of plants is a technique that requires profiling of known compounds from the plant. In this paper, we present a detailed review of known phytochemistry of paper mulberry tree after a thorough survey of available literature as well as different databases (KnapSack, Plant metabolome database (PMDB), PubChem, ChemSpider) in favor of whole metabolome based phytochemical analysis. A detailed account of known phytochemistry of Broussonetia papyrifera sheds light on the multipurpose economic importance (medicinal, high quality fiber, severe pollen allergy, phytotoxic, invasive) of plant.
