Popis: | It is of interest to know how distension changes the angle and content of collagen in the submucosa of small intestine. We describe the application of a two-dimensional quantitative analysis technology to determine the angles between collagen fibers in the submucosa using digital image processing. A polarization microscope was used to obtain a series of animal intestinal slice images. The images were studied by analyzing the relationship between the pixel values of each of the polarized angles to obtain the collagen fiber angle. The statistical distribution of the angle as function of the degree of distension can be analyzed. |
