A mode of electrical injury is outlined that uses impedance blocks connected in a serial circuit, with each type of block being repeated as needed. A simple circuit representation at low voltage consists of two contact-site blocks, two elevated-temperature blocks, and one tissue resistance block. Additional blocks can be added for specific parameters in a given model. A high-voltage model would require more blocks, since elevated temperatures may occur at joints away from the contact site. This approach to modeling of electrical injury will provide a more accurate analysis of real-life occurrences. > |
