It has been established that the shape of the sagging of an inextensible yarn that is much longer than the length between fixing points is not related to the mechanical characteristics of the yarn material and its extensibility, but is determined by the simplest geometric equation. The solution obtained emphasizes the difference between the calculation of flexible yarns, the length of which exceeds the distance between the fixing points, and the yarns having a equal to the distance or a shorter length (that is, yarns with prestressing). The method of determining the length of a sagging yarn fixed between two points having an arbitrary height difference is specified. Clarified the calculation of the loads acting on the fixing points of the yarn. |
