Popis: | Diamine oxidase (DAO, EC 1.4.3.6) is the major enzyme degrading histamine and other biogenic amines [1, 2]. Although DAO activity has been reported for various mammalian tissues, very little is known about the cellular and subcellular distribution of the enzyme. Therefore, we employed a combination of DAO activity assays, immunoblotting with an anti-DAO antibody, and immunohistochemical staining to localise DAO in the gastrointestinal tract of pigs. |
