| Popis: | The paper describes the pioneering contributions of Dr. D. Campbell Meyers (1863--1927) to general hospital psychiatry during the first decade of this century at the Toronto General Hospital where, between 1906 - 1911, he operated the first public general hospital psychiatric unit in Canada. His conflict with Dr. C. K. Clarke who opposed his efforts is documented. To honour Meyers' contributions the Department of Psychiatry, Toronto General Hospital, has been named "The D. Campbell Meyers Memorial Department of Psychiatry". |
