Popis: | Urinary tract infection is one of the common bacterial infections in children and can lead to substantial morbidity. If the infection results in renal scarring, various long-term risks include hypertension and renal insufficiency. Nosocomial urinary tract infections (NUTI) in children occur with varying frequency with approximately 60-80% of these infections being strongly correlated with urethral instrumentation. This paper presents stage one of a Rapid Quality Control Initiative to reduce the incidence of NUTI in the paediatric patient at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre. |
