Popis:	Populations of flour beetles (Tribolium castaneum and T. confusum) were sexually segregated as pupae, and subpopulations were later X-irradiated. The irradiation produced increased longevity in both sexes of each species. The magnitude of the effect decreased with decreasing dose and with increasing age-at-exposure. The beneficial effect is often delayed in its manifestation and is not permanent; that is, there usually is no increase in maximum adult lifespan in the irradiated groups.
