Evaluation of corona plasma techniques for industrial applications: HPPS and DC/AC systems

Popis: This paper discusses some critical issues of developing industrial streamer corona plasma systems for gas cleaning. Based on streamer generation and interaction between powar sources and reactors, two energization methods, namely hybrid-pulsed power source (HPPS) and DC-superimposed; high-frequency AC oscillation (DC/AC), were developed for industrial applications. As an example, a resalt of an industrial investigation on odor emission abatement is presented. The data available is sufficient enough for the commercial-scle design of a corona plasma system for DeNO x , DeSO 2 , deodorization and dust removal. We foresee that by retrofitting available ESPs, plasma-based gas-cleaning systems will be applied in the near future to simultaneously remove polluting gases, heavy metals, and particles.
