Popis:	Over the past few years the outcome of patients with high grade osteosarcoma (OST) improved dramatically, with survival rates rising from 15% up to 70% [1]. The relatively large series of subjects reported by the Rizzoli Institute and Scandinavian Sarcoma Group confirm that the results of treatment improve with increasing aggressiveness of the chemotherapy, showing a dose-response relationship regarding tumor response and survival [2,3]. By contrast, patients with overt metastatic disease at diagnosis as well as those with disease recurrence have a poor prognosis [1–3].
