| Popis: | FAMILY NEOTEUTHIDAE NAEF, 1921 (FOUR SPECIES IN FOUR GENERA) Diagnosis: Small to medium adult-sized Architeuthoidea with free posterior fin lobes; more than ten irregular series of suckers on the proximal manus of the tentacular club; tentacle locking apparatus only in the dorsal margin, extending at least in the proximal manus but sometimes also in the tentacle stalk; fins with free posterior lobes.
