Popis: | Retrospective study of 41 chest ultrasound examinations on 35 patients over 12 months. Of 25 pulmonary lesions, ten demonstrated evidence of pneumonia with associated pleural fluid in five and breakdown in two. Five patients had atelectasis and nine peripheral tumours were examined, with seven of these being needled under ultrasound-guidance. One false-negative study attributed the pattern of alveolar cell carcinoma to bronchopneumonia. In ten patients with mediastinal prominence or mass lesions, three were due to arterial or venous dilatation, four due to cysts, and three solid mass lesions due to two retrosternal goitres and one teratoma. |
