Background: The anatomy course is one of the fundamental courses in the clinic, in order to understand the patient and comprehend other lessons, has an important place in both lecturers and students. The language of the Anatomy course is Latin which is lead to difficulties for the learning of course. The aim of this study is solving the problems about the course by evaluating the opinions of the students about the Anatomy lesson and to be beneficial to the students so that they can better understand the lesson. Materials and Methods: In our research, we studied with 134 students (113 female+13 male) who they are from the Department of Nursing, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and Medical Laboratory Program at Malatya Turgut Özal University. We possessed the students' opinion by applying a questionnaire that include 15 questions as demographic questions about the anatomy course. Results: We found that 97% of the students said that “the teacher who teaches the anatomy course is important”, 87.9% of the student replied that “we are happy to attend the anatomy laboratory class”. In the questionnaire, one of the question was; “why does the studying anatomy course take so long time ?” As an answer, 87.1% of the students said that, “it's Latin and we are taking the course for the first time.” We asked in the questionnaire that “what are your suggestions for increasing the achievements of the students in the anatomy course?” As an answer, 43.9% of the students replied that “we have no idea” and 28% of the students answered that “laboratory course should be done more”, 15.9% of the students answered that “content of anatomy lesson should be reduced and plenty of latin word repetition should be done”, and 6.1% of the students answered that, “more material of the visuals should be used in anatomy class”. Conclusions: In our study; we evaluated the opinions of the students for the anatomy course and we believe that our study will contribute to both students and lecturers as well as researchers.   |
