Popis: In collaboration with multiple stakeholders, the NJ GWEP developed a 4 module series on Dementia, Delirium, and Depression for direct care workers, families, and caregivers delivered using a hybrid model of training and interprofessional case-based review in assisted living, senior housing, and community-based settings. Post-test data indicated that of 674 individuals trained since inception in 2016, 93% increased their awareness of signs and symptoms and mean confidence in implementing behavioral strategies was 3.61 (4 point scale). Stressbusters for Family Caregivers of Patients with Dementia, an evidence-based program employing a train-the-trainers model, trained 18 staff/volunteers from select community agencies as Master Trainers. In this self-perpetuating model, Master Trainers conducted 10 workshops and trained 58 family caregivers. Survey and interview follow-up with family caregivers 6 months to 1 year post-training will examine outcomes related to use of stress reduction techniques, behavioral management strategies, and accessing resources for dementia care.
