Popis: | WHILE examining the Wright-Giemsa-stained bone-marrow aspirate of a patient with a chronic myeloproliferative disorder of the Di Guglielmo type, we were struck by the remarkably large size of the granules in the eosinophils. Many were more than four times the normal size, exceeding 2 miera in diameter. Most of the granules were of an orange hue, but some metachromasia was present. The cells, although bizarre, manifested the usual morphologic appearance and maturation of eosinophilic granulocytes, rather than that of cells containing inclusions as a result of secretory or phagocytic activity.
