Popis: THE technic of selective bronchial catheterization and brushing has been described by authors in a number of medical centers.1 2 3 4 The procedure was popularized by Fennessy,1 who used preformed catheters to attain placement of the catheter in a selected area. Fennessy1 , 2 has chosen a nasotracheal approach, whereas oratracheal4 and transcricoid approaches3 have also been used. Bronchial brushing has been described4 as the most accurate diagnostic tool short of thoracotomy in the diagnosis of lung cancer. It is especially valuable since it allows access to peripheral lesions. This procedure should be considered for any hospital that is provided with an image intensifier . . .
