Popis: | Ninety women who were HIV antibody positive attended the genitourinary medicine clinics of East Riverside up to May 1990. Seventy-five of these women (83%) were examined for co-existent sexually transmitted disease (STD) at presentation. The prevalence of STD in these women was compared to the incidence of STD in all females attending in 1989. Syphilis and chlamydia were found to be significantly more common in women with HIV infection. We feel that a full examination for STD is an important aspect in the management of these women. |
