La gamificación como solución a los problemas de deserción en la educación virtual

Popis: With the advancement of information and communications technologies, there are educational modalities that allow flexible knowledge acquisition, such as virtual education. In Colombia, many Higher Education Institutions offer different courses or professional careers with this modality, but a large number of students do not fully complete their training in these programs. This paper shows the risks of dropping out of virtual educational programs in Colombia and how gamification incorporates elements of the games to contribute to student permanence by influencing students’ motivation. Also, the design of gamified tool “DidacTIC” is proposed to contribute to the reduction of dropout in virtual educational programs.
