The tension-compression asymmetry before yielding for a rolled AZ31 Mg alloy

Popis: Pre-yield mechanical behavior of a rolled AZ31 Mg alloy sheet was studied by tensile and compressive cyclic loading-unloading tests along rolling direction (RD) and transverse direction (TD). It is found that the mechanical responses of pre-yielding are different between tension and compression, which are not linear elasticity. Microplasticity occurs during tensile loading-unloading with irreversible strain and energetic dissipation. While anelasticity with reversible strain and dissipative energy is detected during compressive loading-unloading.
