Popis: | 5 pp. (2002). Long-range beam-beam interactions are expected to limit the maximum achievable luminosity in colliders with several thousand high-current bunches. In this report we summarize recent experiments with focus on parasitic collisions in the Tevatron, SPS, LEP, CESR, the B- factories, and RHIC. Compensation schemes and the relevance of these findings to the LHC will be discussed. |
