Popis: | Human endothelial cells possess antiheparin activity that neutralizes the anticoagulant action of heparin as measured by different tests of the clotting system. The antiheparin activity appears to be associated with an acid-soluble basic protein present in the particulate fraction of the endothelial cell cytoplasm. This finding might have some relevance in the maintenance of hemostasis. Furthermore, it might also have a pharmacological role in terms of resistance to exogenously infused heparin in patients with throm-boembolic disorders. |
