In Latin America, the indicators concerning the number of scientific publications and specialized human resources, as well as the gender parity of researchers, have shown an improvement in recent years. In Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina, efforts are being made to increase gender parity in science, stimulating women's participation in fields such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). However, the indicators still show that the numbers are far from expected. Additionally, the work of renowned researchers in these three countries are presented, as well as actions that have been developed to encourage the entry and permanence of women in science and technology areas. The expectation is that, in the near future, it will be possible to see more women standing out in careers related to the areas of STEM.
