Popis: | Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune condition primarily affecting young adults. As there are numerous uncertainties faced by young women of childbearing age who are living with this chronic condition and the gender ratio is increasingly skewed towards women, it has become critical to define a clear approach to questions of disease management prior to and during pregnancy. With the approval of B cell depletion therapy for treatment of relapsing remitting and primary progressive MS, we explore the available data on using this type of therapy in the setting of pregnancy. We also provide recommendations regarding use of B-cell depleting therapies for patients who are considering or attempting conception. |
