Popis: Aneurysms of the middle meningeal artery appear to be excessively rare. This case appears to be the first recorded in the literature. The patient, Mrs. V. T., aged 73 years, complained of pain over the left temporal region for the previous six months. The pain came on slowly, became progressively worse and was throbbing in nature. She also noticed an associated swelling in this region. Nil of note. An elderly female, temperature 98·4, pulse 80, respiration 80 per minute, blood pressure 176/105. Nil relevant in general examination. One inch ovoid, pulsatile mass of the left temporal fossa was present, situated about 1½ in. above the zygomatic arch. It was tender, non-mobile, non-translucent and transmitted a bruit. It was pulsatile in time with the cardiac rhythm. The remainder of the central nervous system examination revealed no abnormality.
