Popis: Fosfomycin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that targets UDP-Nacetylglucosamine enolpyruvyl transferase (MurA), an important enzyme in the early stages of peptidoglycan biosynthesis. In Escherichia coli, fosfomycin resistance can occur through the presence of fos genes (typically fosA3) which encode fosfomycininactivating enzymes (FosA, FosC2), or by mutations in proteins important for the uptake of fosfomycin (CyaA, GlpT, PtsI, UhpA, UhpT) or for its action (MurA)
