The main objective of the H2020 funded project Water Quality Emergency Monitoring Service (wqems.eu/) is to provide operational water quality information to environmental authorities and water utilities industry in relation to the quality of the ‘water we drink’. To reach this goal, the project focuses its activities on monitoring of lakes using a variety of information sources.This work focuses on Lake Pien-Saimaa which is a medium-size lake in southeastern Finland. It is an important source of fresh water for the City of Lappeenranta with water intake located in the southern part of the lake. |
