Popis: | In male goats, one hour of light pentobarbitone sodium anaesthesia caused a biphasic increase in plasma luteinizing hormone (LH) and in plasma testosterone concentrations, the latter probably mediated by the LH rise. However, increases in plasma cortisol were observed only immediately prior to induction or during waking from anaesthesia. There was no correlation between the increase in cortisol and those of LH and testosterone. No effects were observed on plasma LH, cortisol or testosterone in the 36 h following waking from anaesthesia. |
