Popis: | Quantum calculations to determine the elementary reaction rates of oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) on platinum surface, the Dynamic Monte Carlo simulation on {111} and {100} facets, and the geometrical statistics of the numbers of the atoms on the facets of platinum nanoparticles are combined to analyze the size effect of the nanoparticles for ORR in a PEFC. The mass activity (MA) is maximized at a certain sphere diameter with an equivalent volume. It depends on the shape of the nanoparticle. |
