Popis: This article aims to analyze the supply of military equipment by the United States to South American countries during the Cold War period. At first, it seeks to address the US strategic agenda for the subcontinent and, then, it seeks to advance chronologically through the most significant decades of bipolarity, which marked the advances and setbacks regarding military agreements and the transfer of US equipment to South America. To respond to the proposed objective, bibliographical research was carried out, access to data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), as well as research in other specialized sources on this subject.
