Flipped classroom (FC) is becoming increasingly popular among medical educators and has several ideal applications. However, its utilization in medical education revealing conflicting results among previous studies. The main purpose of this overview is to summarize published systematic reviews (SRs) and meta-analysis on FC in medical education in order to identify its impacts on learning outcomes and student’s perceptions. A systematic search will be conducted in databases: PubMed/Medline, Embase, Scopus, ERIC, Web of Science, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews and LILACS. Grey literature will be searched on Open Grey, ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Database and Google Scholar. SRs and meta-analysis which assessed the impact of FC on academic outcomes and student’s perceptions were included. Two authors independently will collected descriptive characteristics of studies, as well as positive impacts and challenges associated with FC. Overall confidence of SRs will be assessed using the AMSTAR 2 tool. |
