Popis: Diabetes is an independent predictor of morbidity and mortality in patients with symptomatic heart failure, patients with asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction (defined as an ejection fraction of 35% or less), and in a broader registry population with less stringent entry criteria. Although the SOLVD Trials made a major clinical contribution by proving the value of enalapril, diabetes remains a significant predictor of outcome even after adjusting for treatment with enalapril.
