Despite the brisk pace of progress on the implementation of quantum computers, noise induced the environment remains a persistent problem. Given this fact, is it possible for a prudent experimenter to mitigate the impact of this noisy environment, or even harness beneficial resources which might be held within it? In this thesis, a general framework is developed to identify, quantify, and utilise resources held within noisy quantum processes. Applying this framework to the problem of noise reduction, it is found that there are resources left untapped by traditional methods, which can be leveraged to improve noise reduction. |
