A multi-step synthetic strategy to obtain N-4-nitrophenyl-pyruvoyl-amino esters at a multi-gram scale has been developed. The subsequent domino reaction promoted by catalytic hydrogenation of the nitro group gave diaza-paracyclophane 3, 13 and 14. Complexation with Zn, Cu and Co ions has been studied by UV-vis and H NMR spectroscopic methods. |
