Popis: | The aim of this study is to investigate the stability of regular dry stone masonry walls under in-plane seismic loading. The combination of analytical and numerical approaches was used to identify the collapse mechanism and the seismic resistance of different arrangements of stone blocks. In the performed analyses, a minimum value of the horizontal base acceleration due to which one part of the wall loses its stability was adopted as a measure of the seismic resistance. To identify the arrangement of stone blocks that is optimal in terms of seismic resistance, several numerical analyses were performed using the combined finite-discrete element method. |
